Coming Soon - Cregane: The Musical!

People keep asking me what crazy ideas I have in store for future adaptations of my story? But how on earth does one even begin to do justice to the ridiculously absurd fucking fiasco that was my childhood? Read on....
Lets face it - a straight up adaptation of my story would be way too dark and depressing. Plus it gets boring if you're simply re-telling the same story over and over again in different mediums. Far better to keep the general themes but fictionalize/change up the specifics with each new iteration so you can have a little fun with it.
A more dramatic "What if...." stage adaptation that explores the possible outcomes if things had taken a slightly different turn could be a very interesting too!
Oh dear, why do so many of our "family farms" always seem to end up in tears? Maybe its time to ask the young people who keep getting dragged into these incredibly messy and chaotic situations for their honest views on what could be done to improve things?
Dances with Bulls!

For the movie adaptation they could do a cross between "The Field" and "Billy Elliott" - a young farm lad dreams of becoming the world's most popular dancer (on tiktok) but his miserable old prick of a father doesn't support him. In the end the young fella succeeds beyond his wildest dreams and the whole world cheers for him - apart from his oul fella who is still a miserable prick about it.

OR:
Farm of Rock!

A talented farm boy dreams of becoming a rock star but his dad.........well - you get the idea......

OR:
A Series of Unfortunate Farm Events!

A farmer with too many kids decides that the best way to ensure his wealth stays hoarded is to arrange for one of his sons to have an "accident" but despite his best efforts his oblivious son keeps surviving by the skin of his teeth. Come to think of it I did have a hell of a lot of near-misses on the farm when I was growing up so for all I know this could be based on a true story.
And then to follow that up a nice light-hearted memoir. Ahh its funny cos its true!
Haven't fully decided on the title yet though.
My new youtube channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/@davidlynch4391

With it I aim to give people a laugh but also touch on some of the more difficult issues that young people who grow up in these kinds of situations have to deal with. A bit more talk and openness about these issues would do us all a lot of good I think. It certainly could have helped me out a lot had something like it been around back in my day.

Of course YouTube has rules so I won't be able to use my dad's favourite descriptive for me in any of my videos but sure I'll work around it.

The other thing that YouTube frowns upon is depictions of firearms which is a pity because, metaphorically speaking, this is exactly what it felt like to grow up in Cregane. Like living with a fucking gun to your head at all times and all it will take for it to go off is one false move or one wrong word. Fun times!
Churchtown - Ireland at its best!
It takes a village to raise (and save) a child!
Thank god for this place and the inherent goodness, warmth and decency of the people who live there. It was the perfect antidote to the madhouse I was growing up in.
